Yahoo, Match Play & Weather Delays

I don't know about you, but the last time I checked, Yahoo was supposed to be one of the most clever software/internet companies around. If your brain can take you back far enough, they were THE search engine before Google came and stole their crown. Most recently, Microsoft were prepared to pay a few loose billion for them, but the powers that be at Yahoo managed to screw that little earner up too.

Now, golf my friends is a fairly simple game, at least as far as scoring goes. You shoot a number on a hole, and you either add it in in stroke play, or you compare it with your competitor in match play. You with me here fellow Long Reefers?

Somehow, Yahoo - one of the worlds smartest internet companies, has so much trouble with the Accenture Matchplay, that we have to pick some some golfers for the Mayakoba Classic. Now, I'm not sure who gets the job to call a certain tournament a "classic", but lets just say that the guy that is doing that job now, is taking some serious fucking liberties.

What I want to know is why can't one of the worlds smartest software companies, come up with some kind of scoring system, that can deal with a match play event. I mean, it's not like the PGA Tour sprung this on them as a surprise - like "oh sorry Yahoo, did we forget to tell you this week is different..."

I also want to know, why one of the world's smartest software companies, can't deal with a rain delay, like we saw at the Bob Hope Classic. You know what Yahoo. Golf is played outdoors, and as strange as this may seem to you pizza muchin', diet coke guzzling, little virgin geeks, sometimes weather gets to be a problem when you actually do something outside.

Thanks to you useless fucks, I have to take an interest in this stupid tournament in Mexico. Guys, you could have come up with something really really innovative & interesting, to score the Matchplay for us Fantasy Golfers.

Maybe the PGA Tour should partner with Google next year.....
